Terms of Service

1. The Service

camrand pairs you with a randomly selected person for a live video, audio and text chat. The service is operated by an individual developer, requires no account, and is free of charge and supported by advertising.

2. Age Requirement (18+)

camrand is intended solely for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the service. You are asked to confirm this before your first chat, and by using camrand you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. No Account; Optional Profile

You do not need to register to use camrand, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. You may optionally set a display name, age group and gender; these are shown to the people you are matched with, and you are solely responsible for anything you choose to share on camera or in chat.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use camrand to break the law or to harm others. In particular, you must not: appear on camera or allow anyone under 18 to appear on camera; create, share or request child sexual abuse material (zero tolerance — we may report such activity to the relevant authorities); engage in harassment, threats, hate speech or stalking; record, capture or distribute another user's video, audio or messages without their consent; expose others to non-consensual sexual content; or impersonate any person or entity.

You must also not use camrand for spam, advertising or solicitation, scams or phishing, distributing malware or links to harmful content, disrupting or overloading the service, or evading a suspension or block.

5. Moderation, Reports and Blocks

You can report another user during a chat using the Report button. We may review reports and may, at our discretion, suspend or block users — including by technical means such as IP address — where we believe these Terms have been violated. We reserve these rights but do not assume an obligation to monitor every interaction.

Video and audio travel directly between participants (see our Privacy Policy), so we do not watch or pre-screen live streams. You are responsible for your own interactions; use the Report and Skip functions whenever a conversation makes you uncomfortable.

6. Advertising

camrand is funded by advertising. You may be shown banner ads and occasional short video ads served by third-party advertising networks. We do not endorse advertised products or services and are not responsible for the content of ads or for the third-party websites they link to.

7. Availability, Changes and Termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice. The service may be unavailable in certain regions (for example, the United Kingdom), and we may restrict access from any region at our discretion. We may also refuse or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

camrand is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We have no control over other users. In particular, be aware that the person you are matched with could record or screenshot your stream on their own device — do not show or say anything you would not want saved. We cannot guarantee the behavior, identity or age of other users.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of camrand shall not be liable to you for any damages or losses of any kind — including indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, or from your interactions with other users. You use the service, and everything you do on it, solely at your own risk and responsibility.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of camrand from any claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service or your violation of these Terms.

11. Sample and AI-Generated Content

While you are waiting to be matched, camrand may play a short pre-recorded sample video or a video ad in the same window that is otherwise used for a live partner. This is not a live connection to another user, and nobody is watching your camera while it plays. You can move on at any time with the Skip or Stop buttons, exactly as you would in a real match.

Some of this material, including sample videos and ads served by third parties, may be created with or contain artificial intelligence generated content, including realistic depictions of people who do not exist. Anyone shown in such material is not a real camrand user.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Your continued use of camrand after a revision takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Language

These Terms are drafted in English and may be provided in other languages for convenience. If there is any inconsistency between a translation and the English version, the English version prevails.
