Staying safe on random video chat
Random video chat is a fun way to meet people around the world — and like anywhere online, a few simple habits go a long way. Here's what we recommend, and what camrand does on its side.
camrand is for adults (18+)
You must be 18 or older to use camrand. If you believe a user is underage, report them immediately — users who accumulate reports are banned automatically.
Keep personal details private
Never share your full name, address, phone number, workplace, or social media handles with strangers. Be mindful of what's visible in your background — mail, IDs, or street views can reveal more than you intend.
Report and move on
If someone makes you uncomfortable, use the Report button and skip to the next person. Repeated reports lead to automatic bans, and you never have to stay in a conversation you don't like.
Recognize common scams
Be suspicious of anyone who quickly professes strong feelings, asks you to move to another app, requests money, or sends links. Never send money to — or click links from — someone you just met.
What happens to your video
camrand does not record or store your video or audio. Remember, though, that the person on the other side could still record their own screen — never show or say anything you wouldn't want saved.
