Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information camrand (camrand.net) processes when you use the service, what it does not collect, and the choices you have. camrand is run by an individual developer and is deliberately designed to work without accounts and with as little data as possible. Effective date: July 16, 2026.

1. Overview

camrand is a random video chat service that works without registration. This policy covers the camrand website and chat service. In short: we do not know who you are, we do not record your chats, and the small amount of technical data we process exists to run matching, prevent abuse and keep the service online.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

camrand has no user accounts. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address or payment details, and we do not build profiles of identified users. We also do not record or store your video, your audio or your chat messages.

3. Video, Audio and Text Chats

Video and audio are transmitted with WebRTC and travel encrypted, directly between your browser and your chat partner's browser whenever a direct connection is possible. When it is not, the encrypted streams may pass through a TURN relay server (provided by Cloudflare) — so we do not claim they never touch a server — but camrand does not record, store or watch them in either case. Text chat messages travel over the same encrypted peer-to-peer connection and are likewise not stored by camrand; they exist only in your browser during the chat.

Please remember that camrand cannot control your chat partner's device: the person you talk to could record their screen or take screenshots. Do not show or say anything you would not want saved.

4. Matching and Session Data

To pair you with another user, a temporary session identifier and your optional profile attributes (display name, age group, gender, language) are held in a matching queue and in server memory while you are connected. This data is shown to the person you are matched with, is removed when you disconnect, and is not written to a database.

5. Reports and Technical Logs

When you report another user, we record the report — the temporary session identifiers of both users and the reason you selected — in our server logs and use it for moderation, which may lead to users being blocked.

Your IP address is processed briefly to rate-limit connections (an abuse and bot protection measure) and may appear in server logs, for example when a limit is exceeded. Server logs also contain technical events such as connections and matches, keyed by temporary session identifiers rather than by your identity.

6. Data Stored in Your Browser

camrand itself does not use tracking cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage to remember two things on your device: that you accepted the age confirmation and the Terms, and the optional profile you set. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to us except as described in section 4; you can remove it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser. Note that the third-party providers described in sections 7 and 8 may set their own cookies.

7. Advertising

camrand is funded by ads served by a third-party advertising network (ExoClick). When ads are shown, the ad network may process your IP address and device information and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own responsibility and privacy policy — we do not control this processing. Please refer to the ad network's privacy policy for details and choices.

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run camrand: Cloudflare (content delivery, network protection and the TURN relay described above), Google Cloud (server hosting) and ExoClick (advertising). These providers process technical data such as IP addresses and traffic information as part of providing their services, under their own privacy policies.

9. Data Retention

Matching queue entries and session data are deleted when you disconnect or when the match ends. Rate-limiting counters expire automatically within minutes. Server logs, including report records, are kept only as long as needed for moderation, security and troubleshooting and are then deleted or rotated. We keep no long-term database of users.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. We will honor such requests to the extent we can — but we want to be honest about a limitation: because camrand has no accounts, the little data we hold is keyed to temporary session identifiers, and we usually cannot link it to you. In many cases this means there is simply no stored data we can attribute to you. If you have a request or question, contact us and we will do what we reasonably can.

11. Children

camrand is strictly for adults aged 18 or over, and we do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service, please report them in the chat or contact us so we can take action.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the service changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

13. Language

This policy is drafted in English and may be provided in other languages for convenience. If there is any inconsistency between a translation and the English version, the English version prevails.
